Matt: The guy is a legend, through him I’ve met some really cool people, plus on a night out it’s always fun when he’s out. Completely different to me in a lot of ways but the guy is ‘all over it’

Chris: Chris was the first flatmate I actually saw, I met him on facebook. Chris is a really chill guy, he was the one who fist integrated me in meeting other people on the first night, so I thank him for that. He’s also the person I most in the flat.

Chrissie: Chrissie is a fun person to be around, she could talk for england. Nice girl, but kind of odd sometimes, but hey, it’s not my business what other people do

Georgie: Georgie was one of the first flatmates I found on facebook, very nice girl, friendly easy to chat to. Perhaps at times she can be a bit quiet, but it’s no biggie. Georgie has found a group of mates very quickly and that’s fair enough.

Simone: Simone was the last flatmate I met, I rarely see her, she is very busy. But she’s very nice and easy to chat with.

And as for myself, I think my flatmates think I’m very strange, a lot of my habits and the things I do are really things people are familiar with. Oh well, I’m not gonna change just cos lot’s of people think I’m strange.

Right, moving on from the flatmates. I have if course met lot’s of other people. The great thing about my accommodation is that it’s very sociable when you know people and you get to know more people.

My Course, well let’s just say my course didn’t get off to the best start, mine started two weeks after everyone else’s, it’s a very hands on practical course, I do feel like this first semester we are not really being pushed a great deal. But their you go. I have really bonded with some people on my course, some really really chill people. Particularly, three guys called Tom, Mike & James, great banter.

Uni life in general, I have amazed myself at how easy I blended into the whole Uni lifestyle, It certainly was the right time for me to go. I have become more confident in everything, females are taking a liking to me, I for one am shocked at this. I’m becoming more independent each day I’n here, lot’s of people see uni as a wast of time but putting the course your doing aside, uni is great life skills teacher.

I’ll finish, I’m amazed that it’s nearly November, it will be Christmas soon and the first semester will soon be over. But so far University has been brilliant, long may it continue this way

I did some pretty crazy stuff this year, stuff I never thought I never would of done in the past. Staying up all night in Manchester for one. Yes,  it was the dot to dot festival I went to in May. That was very crazy night, never felt so shattered after. Also this year, I found out some new things about myself, some positive and negative things and I also found out some more stuff about my friends. The great thing about knowing someone is getting to know more.

But yeah 2010, pretty sound year. College course 1st year went pretty alright, then Glastonbury was as you know epic. My Summer was not really action packed but sill fun all the same. I went on a trip to London in September with the guys on my course, those two days were full of laughter, enjoyment and the whole trip was basically an overwhelming experience. Of course the hard work all comes to pass in 2011 with regards to my UCAS application and stuff, but I won’t go on about that. 2010 was a pretty disappointing one for sport, United didn’t win the title and the England football team doesn’t even deserve to be discussed, they were that shit. Staying on Sport, one brilliant thing has happened this year, England have finally managed to have a fantastic cricket team who just recently retained the Ashes in Australia. It’s brilliant because ever since I starting following cricket england have had great individual players but never fully forged a winning team in all areas of the game. Let’s hope they continue this great form into the 2011 cricket world cup.

So 2010 summary:

1. Strong admiration for most of my friends

2. I never get stressed out, I just concentrate on being ‘ chilled ‘ . That continued in 2010

3. FInally, I guess I have just matured more as a person

Before all that though, it was my friend jake’s 18th birthday meal, at an indian restaurant  in town. I don’t normally eat indian food as it’s not to my taste but i managed to find something on the menu to my liking. It was a god laugh. Afterward all of us went up to a party that was going on. I shouldn’t of gone really, loads people who were just ‘ meh ‘ there nothing special happening really. I had to also walk the long walk to Haslington by myself , i got home about 2 o’clock.

So sunday, my dad came in and work me up at around 8:50am, I switched the laptop on straight away, cos the tickets were going on sale at 9. I never even got on to the see tickets website, pile of crap they were, or maybe my internet was just crap. Anyway after about two hours of constant refreshing, things grew desperate, not only did I have to get myself a ticket but my sister one as well. Finally Michael Kinge managed to get his ticket first. Then others got through, I was desperate so I rung greg and then greg’s sister Steph, somehow their internet was amazing. Finally sorted, but that wasn’t the end of it of which I will come to in a bit. Anyway after getting mine, I then set about enlisted friends help to try and get my sister her ticket. Tickets were going to be sold out around 1 o clock, I had been desperate trying to get through but still no luck. I gave up and even told Melissa not to expect getting a ticket , however my friend jack got through for her, I have the nicest friends. And amazingly all of us and when I say all of us I mean the guys I went to glasto with this year and 7 more of my friends, we all managed to get tickets !!

So after waiting all day for my confirmation e mail, I was just on my email account before realising I had put the wrong email when booking, one of the most stupid things I have ever done, I then rung up seetickets, I then was on hold for 10 mins and then I got through and corrected my email. Phew!!

So anyway it seems U2 will be playing next at next year’s festival after not playing this year. I will be definitely seeing them no matter what. U2 were the first bands I first properly got into, they were basically like the first music I heard really. The band that got me into music. Really excited, if not more excited than last year for glasto, probably cos lot’s more of my friends and people I know are going, I’ve also got my older sibling coming with as well.

So, getting tickets this year was so much more stressful than last year but more worthwhile I think

So I got up early on the wednesday ready to get to the train station for 10 o’clock to meet my teachers and classmates. The train journey took quite a while but I just spent most it with my ipod on so it kinda of flew by. Our train went past wembley really close up, that was pretty cool. It looks different close up than it does on television.

Anyway the real fun was about to begin, THE UNDERGROUND. I only been the capital a couple of times since 2001, but I haven’t travelled on the tube since 2001 either. It was really exciting. So we got to our Hotel, which was in west kensington I think. We pretty much just dropped out bags and sorted out who was who’s room. Then we set of to see the Tate, this meant more underground trains, all of us were slowly getting used to all the different lines and stops and that. so we got the Tate, my lecturers basically just said look about the Tate  and then we could go and do whatever the hell we wanted. Whilst in the Tate I looked around, my favourite exhibit was the Andy Warhol one, of course with ti being Andy Warhol they had some Velvet Underground being played on the sound system, ‘ All Tomorrows Parties ‘ was being played.

After this me and some others hit the shops at bond & oxford street, went into the biggest Primark and the biggest HMV I’ve ever been in. Whilst in HMV I bought another Floyd album.

We then took the tube(s) back the hotel. Not everyone was back yet so a group of us went for a walk around kensington & hammersmith. When everyone was back we all just chilled out with some beers &  quite a lot of us smoked. I gotta tell you never felt so good having a cigarette and then just thinking to myself , ” hey I’m London with a beer in one hand and a cigg in the other, this is awesome! ” .

Thursday morning we had to get up early to take part as the guest audience on The Wright Stuff. It so amazing being in a real life TV Studio. We saw all the technical equipment and learnt about live broadcasts and that, so yeah it was sweet. Also managed to get on TV. So thats cool.

For the rest of the day me and some others experienced some more of the capital city, we went to the Palace and discussed ” would you fuck the queen just to say you have fucked the queen ” we also annoyed the hell out the guards and the Buckingham palace tour people. After this we managed to navigate our way to the Natural History Museum.  It was pretty much the same as it was when I went with my family in 2001, the robotic T Rex was cool though.

After this is was pretty much the end of the trip, we got all of our stuff together and got the train journey home.

So apart from that not a lot else has happened, it’s been 3 of my friends 18th’s this month, going for a meal this saturday for one 18th.

Oh yeah, a couple of sundays ago United played liverpool, it was an epic game and berbatov scored a hatrick in a 3-2 victory, in my opinion nothing is more sweeter beating the scousers. So to end on, I’m gonna list my favourite moments with United against Liverpool

So what’s new, well since my last blog, my family have been holiday and come back. During there time away it has been my job to look after the house, I have to say it has been brill, invited some of the guys round on two occasions. I bought Fatal Attraction DVD, tip: do not watch alone, fatal attraction is very scary. Glenn Close is truly magnificent in the film, she really does produce an awfully slick, ‘ bunny boiler ‘ scary woman. So I watched that and a hatful of films I recorded that were on TV. Including my absolute all time favourite movie ever, Point Break. There’s numerous reason to why this is my favourite.

1. The action scenes are just very gripping and intense

2. The dialogue and just some of the quotes are funny as fuck

3. Keane Reeves & Patrick Swayze are just immense in it

4. Every time I see Point Break it makes me wish I could surf

5. Finally, everything that I love in a film is in Point Break

So what else, oh yes Mr Rooney, well he’s been a naughty boy recently, just shows how most england national team footballers are scumbags, which brings me on to the football. If United keep throwing chucking away winning leads away from home then Chelsea will have the title won easy peasy. I was in a  genuine state of ‘ what the f**k when United lost a 3-1 lead to Everton on saturday. Were gonna just have to produce some amazing form in the winter months if were to challenge Chelsea, who seem to be easing their way through every game they play at the moment. Staying with football, 1. Fantasy football drives you crazy and 2. I recently discovered my outfield touch. I’ll start with the latter, last football game I played with the guys, I came out of net with my team in a mess, I quickly scored a hatrick & gave my team a chance of victory, however we lost. My goals were very Inzaghi-esque, any non football fans reading this are probably thinking wtf am I going about, I apologise.

So on friday saw the end of Big Brother, a TV show that’s been going strong for 1o years, The Favourite Brian Dowling won, he also won the 2nd series back in 2001, so yeah he’s pretty much the most popular housemate of all time. It was the right time to see big brother go  I think, the program has faltered in recent years, I guess channel 4 will have to find a new show to try and keep ratings up in the summer.

Yesterday was 9/11, yes that date. On thursday I watched United 93, it was about the 4th plane that got hijacked that day, the plane that was supposed  to of crashed into the white house but didn’t succeed in it’s task thanks to a remarkable show of human spirit by the passengers on board United airlines 93. The film deeply moved me, I dunno why, but whenever I watch anything 9/11 related. It brings back every memory from that horrible day, it was a event which changed the world. I probably sound like a droning idiot but I’d just thought I would share my feelings about that with you.

On wednesday I started back at college, in a brand new building. The new build looks like some sort of space station on the outside and its very weird looking inside. Anyways I’m sure I’ll just get use to it as the year progresses. In my 2nd year of my course I plan just to keep a low profile, I’m not really that bothered in socialising that much this year, I’ll just lay low and just get the work done. And then we’ll see if I’m Uni material or not, don’t get me wrong I would love & want to go to University, but you never know what the future holds, I guess thats my feeling with the whole education system as well. I mean why prepare & work towards life in the future when In reality life is happening right in front if your eyes as you know it and you’ve got to realise that before time goes by too quickly.

With college though, I’m going to London on Wednesday for a couple of days, I haven’t properly been to the capital city for a good 9 years, so I’m looking forward to this trip immensely.

From then on I’m concentrating on UCAS stuff, uni open days and such, that should be fun……

Leaving on a happy note, OCTOBER 3RD GLASTONBURY TICKETS GO ON SALE . Yes I plan on going again…..

You know what bug’s me though, how time go’s by far to quick for you to appreciate it!! , I mean this summer has gone so abnormally quick. Some of my friends got their A level results this week, most of them were pleased with what they got. Also this past week I’ve done too shopping trips with the family, last sunday we went to the Trafford Centre & we popped up to Hanley today. But if your going the Trafford centre in them near future, do not go the Italian Restaurant near the bandstand. The food was quite awful to say the least, I came out of there most unsatisfied.

On one final note, THE SEASON HAS STARTED AGAIN. This means my Saturday will be following the scores and such. I actually want to do well in the fantasy league this time around , instead of my shambolic effort last year.

United’s 1st game was against Newcastle, we won 3-0 in a fairly comfortable performance, the icing on the cake was our 3rd goal, Paul Scholes ping’s out a pass to ryan Giggs who volleyed it in the net, truly wonderful to see  two players of their age still performing at the highest level for a club such as united. To end with I’m gonna leave you with some highlights from the two MUFC legends

So thursday and friday was two FIFA sessions at to of my friends houses, did rubbish in one and well in the other, at jacks I was Juventus and lost in the first round, bit disappointing really . However redemption was found in FIFA world cup at jakes houses the next day, I was Italy, now I don’t know what is or what reason, but I just love everything Italian, whenever I’m italy, I just seem to kick butt, I won the tournament beating jim’s belgium team in the final.

Saturday & Sunday were both relatively quiet, monday as well. Tuesday I decided to spend the tenner I have had had lying in my wallet for a month, I bought the Breakfast Club, because I haven’t seen it before and a very picturesque B & W photo of Paris. In Town I bumped into two friends of mine and just spent the whole day with them really.

In the evening I went to a mates house and watched one of the worst films ever, ‘ Drag me to Hell ‘ very awful, so watched that and just chilled and chatted really. The best moment of the day though was my bus journey home. First a bit of back story, when my Mum & Dad went to Bournemouth on holiday, they bought ‘ The Wall ‘ Pink Floyd t-shirt , my mother told me it was only on sale in two places in the whole country, Bournemouth & the Isle of Mann, so quite rare. Anyway I was on the bus & this dude, was really impressed by my T- Shirt, he shook my hand about 20 times & called, me a hero and that I made his day. I mean yeah he was a bit drunk but still, felt pretty cool just cos I was wearing this awesome T-Shirt.

This Friday will be football, In preparation I have been watching videos of my favourite goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon of Italy, some of his saves are inhumane.

On a Final Note, it recently turned August, my 2010 calendar is a classic film poster calendar and this month is the Poster of one of my top 5 favourite films ever, The Graduate !

So we went back to the Cinema and watched Inception, deary me I wasn’t impressed by this film at all. I can honestly say it was the first film ever to put me to sleep. Bored me to death, it seems like I’m the only person who doesn’t like it. All I can recall from watching the film is that it had leo di caprio as this dream hunter guy and the dude from 500 day’s of summer as his sidekick. Anyway the film was just about some dream’s within dreams or something like that anyways I don’t care, hated it.

So yeah just wanted to do a small blog about that really. Oh also this week, I have started watching my friends boxsets again, I still scream with laughter.

I’m a bit bored at quater past 8 on a sunday evening so I’m gonna post some of my favourite album covers and write about them. Dunno why , it’s just something to do I guess. Yes I’m sad

Louder Than Bombs, by the Smiths.

As with all Morrissey’s sleeve cover’s, they usually contain one person. But this one I just love. I like the way the woman (playright Shelagh Delaney) is tilting the cigarette on the side, I like the way she is looking straight at the camera, it just looks pretty slick I think.

Next is one of the most famous and most parodied  Album Covers. It’s Springsteens Born to Run, damm that guy looks so chilled out and cool. He is leaning on Saxophonist Clarence Clemonn’s.The cover it’s self has had so many Parodies, the album as well is in my top ten of all time, every song is just so perfect.

This is Animals by Pink Floyd, the image os that of Battersea Power Station and yes there is a pig flying, The floyd are true artists, as you can see they have actually proposed the idea of pigs flying. Neat huh

Next it’s Exile on Main Street by The Rolling Stones. With this cover I love the Black & White thumbnail images of just random pictures, completely random pictures. But it looks so, as david bowie would say, Hunky Dory

So my family have booked two holidays this summer and to be perfectly honest, I don’t really want to go either of them, the magic of going abroad hasn’t really grabbed me ever since my last abroad holiday to tenerife back in 2008.

Who knows what I’ll be doing this summer or what I get up to. We’ll just have to wait see.

Top 10 Moments

1. Seeing Stevie Wonder: really was amazing seeing such a musical legend so close, I was about 10 or 11th row  from the front. He was really enjoying himself, pretty much everyone in the crows was just enjoying themselves. It was a great moment when Michael Eavis joined Stevie on stage and then performing  ’ Happy Birthday ‘ in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the festival. A great way to end the festival.

2. Watching The Flaming lips: After listening to them a lot beforehand, I then heard about their crazy live shows. I saw some clips on youtube on what was in store. I was then in anticipation of what I was going to see. It really was incredible to be part of such a crazy, weird and wonderful live show. Everything was going on, ticker tape, wayne coyne crowd surfing in a hamster ball and huge balls bouncing around the audience. Such great fun, a great way to cap off friday evening.

3. Watching The xx being unexpectedly  good: From what I heard beforehand about their live shows was that they are a bit boring live. However they really relished performing at Glastonbury and put on a great show. It was pretty awesome seeing florence welch joining them on stage  for ‘ you’ve got the love ‘

4. Jarvis Cocker randomly appearing from nowhere to do a DJ slot at the rabbit hole: So me jack and james went up to the park area on Saturday evening waiting to see freebass. Free bass didn’t play, but Jarvis Cocker just popped up from no where and did a DJ set, he played some great tunes and I got to shake his hand, pretty epic.

5. Seeing England get knocked out of the world cup on a big TV screen: Some of you reading this are probably wondering why I’ve put this as a top 10 moment, well on sunday I went to the football field to go watch England’s last 16 world cup match v Germany, although we had a poor decision, england were terrible , I think this defeat certainly marked us as not a ‘ big gun international football nation ‘ anymore.Hopefully in the next big tournament our fans & media will not make some huge hype.

7. Discovering the Growler ( thanks to Jake Buckley): So on thursday jake told me about this baguette thing called a growler, I checked it out. It was truly delicious. Now some of us didn’t like the growler, thats fine. But I loved it, I’m gonna attempt to make my own growler. I also loved the somerset dudes accent on the stand when he served the growler to me ” you a growler ”  .

8. Seeing Florence + The Machine: I was with greg when watching her, she really did own the crowd, it was one of the largest other stage crowds for a while. She even said to the crowd, ” 4 years ago I was in the tipi field and now this ” . Fair play to her, for climbing the ladder. She did an awesome cover of Fleetwood Mac’s the chain.

9. The Weather: This was the hottest glastonbury ever, 25 degrees + every day, the tent was a sauna inside. At the times the heat was unbearable. But I have come back with a rather nice tan.

10. Having lots of laughs with the 7 guys I went with: Yep we had lots of laughs and just funny moments really we didn’t really argue once.

My Favourite things about Glastonbury in general

1. Talking to complete random strangers and exchanging life stories was just awesome, theire was my three new blonde bestfriends and one dude at Stevie Wonder, the random lady me and james chatted to on the ay to the park and also the 5 guys I chatted to at flaming lips.Oh yeah also all the people who asked me for a lighter as well, even the drunk guy who I had to light up his fag. Good times.

2. Great Music being blasted out from the speakers when bands weren’t playing/ during soundcheck. This was great whenever I was walking round the site, all I heard was great tune after great tune, most of my favourite bands were played. My favourite though was when me greg and coombes were at the pyramid, they were buying t shirts I waited and on came comfortably numb by pink floyd mega loud on the speakers. It was great. You didn’t get embarrassed singing along either because  other people were doing the same.Also just dancing with strangers while in the queue getting the cider.

3. The general ‘ good feel ‘ about the place. Well Wayne Coyne even said it ” everyones just so happy & upbeat here “,  He’s correct, their wasn’t any dick heads around like you might find at other festivals, all there were  just friendly happy people having a good time, all be it drunk though haha

4. Sitting and chilling in park area on the hill. This was lovely, from this spot you can see the whole glastonbury site and the sunset, it’s just lovely.

5. The Variety of things you can do, it blew me away how man stalls and stuff their was. I didn’t expect the variety of food snacks you could have all the cool and funny t shirts, shades, hats etc etc. Also just the amount of stuff to go and explore. It’s just brilliant.

Finally anyone reading this who has never been Glastonbury, seriously go. It really does put any other festival to shame.
